The Role
The Leach Pad Technician is a hands on, field based role responsible for performing manual and equipment assisted labor on the leach pad to support safe and efficient copper production. You will operate heavy equipment, perform pipe welding and layout, and assist with day to day operational activities essential to maintaining optimal leach pad performance.
This role requires physical stamina, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions. You will report directly to the Leach Pad Supervisor and work closely with other technicians and process team members.
What You'll Do
  • Weld HDPE pipe safely and effectively.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections on assigned equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment including extendable boom forklifts and mini excavators.
  • Lay out, install, and maintain irrigation piping on the leach pad.
  • Execute leach pad tasks as directed to support heap leaching operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment across assigned work zones.
  • Support other operational duties as assigned by the Leach Pad Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a field operations team.
  • Follow instructions clearly and consistently.
  • Communicate hazards, maintenance issues, and operational needs promptly.

  • Basic welding skills.
  • Experience with HDPE pipe fusion (4"-36").
  • Previous equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Strong safety mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, outdoor industrial environment.
