Job description

Primary Duties/Zero Harm Responsibilities

  • Observe the "General Rules for All Employees" at all times.
  • Maintain chemical and temporary hazardous waste storage area.
  • Label and load hazardous waste shipments.
  • Support spill response activities and aids in clean up of drippage in the Treated Wood Storage Yard.
  • Required to enter cylinders to retrieve wrecked trams and clean cylinder floor.
  • Keep work area clean and free of debris.
  • Clean and helps maintain drip track, cylinder basement, and concrete areas under storage units using high-pressure washing, detergents, scrapping and/or sweeping.
  • Clean catch basins, drain screens and troughs.
  • Remove debris from sumps.
  • Perform repair and crack sealing in drip tracks as instructed by Treating Supervisor.
  • Promptly report all incidents, injuries, damages, or other Zero Harm issues.
  • Perform general housekeeping on the drip pad and in the hazardous waste storage area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements.
  • Pass pre-employment medical screening.
  • May have to be medically cleared to wear a respirator.
  • Authorized as a permit confined space attendant and/or entrant.
  • Trained to handle hazardous waste.
  • Willingness to work outdoors.

Candidate Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
