Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver - Shuttler to join our team. In this role, you will safely transport finished goods and raw materials between our manufacturing facility, suppliers, and distribution centers while also supporting on-site trailer movements to ensure efficient shipping operations. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, maintains compliance with all DOT regulations, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely transport finished goods and raw materials between the manufacturing plant, suppliers, and distribution centers.
- Perform trailer shuttling and trailer moves within the facility to support shipping and warehouse operations.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical or safety concerns.
- Plan routes and ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Accurately maintain driver logs, hours of service, mileage records, and fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including regulations regarding vehicle size, weight, route restrictions, parking, and required rest periods.
- Position trucks and trailers safely for loading and unloading.
- Verify delivery paperwork and shipping instructions before transporting loads.
- Promptly report accidents, vehicle defects, incidents, or traffic violations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Support other driving assignments as needed to meet business demands.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card).
- Minimum of 3 year of commercial truck driving experience.
- Working knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS, and other transportation technology.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Clean driving record with no recent moving violations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and provide coverage for other driving positions when needed.
- Ability to safely maneuver tractors and trailers in tight spaces.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing traffic, weather, and operational conditions.
- Willingness to successfully complete pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
- Graduation from an accredited truck driving school is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb in and out of commercial vehicles throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
