The Mechanic-Boiler at PIM BRANDS LLC is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of boiler systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. This full-time role requires a skilled professional who can troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, conduct regular inspections, and implement preventative maintenance measures to support the companyโ€™s operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boiler systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
  • ย Conduct regular inspections of boiler equipment and related systems to identify and address potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure seamless operation of all equipment.
  • ย Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • ย Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new boiler equipment as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics and other team members.ย Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in boiler technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • Vocational training or on-the-job training in machine operations and metal fabrication is necessary.
  • Must be able to read and follow drawings, blueprints and written specifications.
  • Blue seal refrigeration license required; blue seal boiler or higher preferred.
  • Math and computer skills are preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-year experience as a maintenance mechanic preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Expected to be competent in the following areas;
  • ย Machinery repair and installation.
  • Pumps, mixers and mechanical equipment.
  • General Electric work.
  • Plumbing, Pipefitting and welding
  • General maintenance, such as lubrication, painting and fabrication of equipment
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor.
