Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Banking Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic banking and financial services initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the banking or financial services industry, with expertise in managing cross-functional teams, stakeholder communication, regulatory compliance, and technology implementations. This role requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of banking and financial services projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Lead Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies based on project requirements.
  • Track project progress using KPIs and prepare executive status reports.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Oversee change management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation activities.
  • Ensure successful project closure, documentation, and transition to support teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7 10+ years of project management experience.
  • 5+ years managing projects in banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, payments, lending, deposits, risk, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing technology implementation or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or Smartsheet.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile certification.
  • Experience with core banking platforms such as Fiserv, Jack Henry, Finastra, or Temenos.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including SOX, AML, KYC, PCI-DSS, and FFIEC guidelines.
  • Experience working with cloud migration or digital banking initiatives.
