Director, Accounting
From accounting and financial planning to risk/fraud analysis and payments, our Finance team ensures not only our company's financial security, but that our customers can buy from us with confidence. Priceline.com - a part of Booking Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG), a highly profitable global online travel company - is looking for an Accounting Director to join the team.

This individual will serve as an integral member of the General Ledger team supporting all of Priceline's businesses ensuring the accurate and timely submission of our results as well as ensuring appropriate controls around the related processes.

The successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and Booking Holdings (Parent Company).

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Partner with the Assistant Controller to lead an accurate and timely month-end close and related financial reporting for assigned legal entities.

  • Manage and develop a team of ~6 professionals across multiple levels, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and execution of SOX controls.

  • Oversee key Sales and Other Expense accounts, including reserves related to chargebacks, goodwill, and interchange.

  • Manage critical revenue accruals across flights, hotels, and rental car businesses, as well as other revenue streams such as direct marketing, trip protection, and ancillary products; oversee related rental car reserves.

  • Supervise the application of Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) across key accounts receivable reserves.

  • Oversee cash, cash in transit (CIT), and unapplied cash processes, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries and prompt resolution of reconciling items.

  • Support FBO and ring-fencing reporting, ensuring customer funds are properly safeguarded and compliant with applicable requirements.

  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to explain financial results and key variances versus plan and forecast.

  • Analyze and review account fluctuations, providing clear and insightful commentary; ensure the team delivers accurate and meaningful explanations.

  • Support the design, documentation, and execution of internal controls, ensuring effectiveness for assigned processes.

  • Assist with interim and year-end audit procedures.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and timeliness of accounting operations and deliverables.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related professional experience, preferably within a $1B+ public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm.

  • BS in a related discipline required, CPA preferred

  • Supervisory experience, including coaching and mentoring members of the team

  • Experience with BlackLine, Oracle EBS and OneStream desired, Excel proficiency required

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of assigned work

    There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

    The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $210,000.
