Job description

CNC Machine Operator (Direct Hire | 2nd Shift)
Location: Farmington, CT
Hours: 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
**Must train on 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) for approximately 1 month**
Pay: 23.00 – $39.00/hour + 15% Shift Differential (after training)

Position Overview

We are seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators to join our team in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role involves setting up and operating CNC equipment, supporting new production runs, and ensuring high-quality output. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines including laser cutting, bending, and punching equipment
  • Previous experience with TRUMPF machines 
  • Support initial production runs, including troubleshooting and process adjustments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and setup plans
  • Inspect parts using measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures, etc.)
  • Ensure all parts meet quality standards before moving to the next operation
  • Sort, organize, and manage parts according to production orders
  • Perform deburring, grinding, and cleaning of sheet metal components
  • Maintain machines and work areas using 5S and TPM practices
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for sheet metal materials
  • Operate shop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, drills, and grinders
  • Participate in daily shop floor meetings and continuous improvement (SYNCHRO) activities

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–3 years of CNC machining or operating experience
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with TRUMPF equipment is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
