Position Summary

WME is seeking a Senior Digital Workplace Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and evolution of workplace technology across Microsoft 365, identity, and endpoints in a complex, global environment spanning the US, EMEA, and APAC. The role will report to WME's Sr. Director, Tech Ops & Strategy.

This is not a break-fix role. You will operate with significant autonomy, delivering large-scale enterprise technology solutions and shaping technology strategy. You will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner across IT, Infrastructure, Security, and business teams, with visibility at senior leadership level and responsibility for mentoring and uplifting the broader team.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Lead complex incident response and post-mortems; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Apply structured problem management: identify root causes, document findings, and implement durable fixes, not workarounds.
  • Champion automation, monitoring, and standardized engineering practices.
  • Drive CSI cycles using ticket trends and service data to identify, implement, and measure improvements.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of known issues, runbooks, and resolution steps to reduce reliance on tribal knowledge.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve reliability, cost effectiveness, and speed to delivery.
  • Lead or contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing administration of the enterprise ITSM platform.

Design and Engineer Secure, Reliable Services

  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant workplace services.
  • Review and influence technical designs to meet best practices, performance standards, and security requirements.
  • Apply NIST CSF 2.0 functions to assess risk, inform service design decisions, and strengthen the security posture of workplace technology.
  • Use service health metrics to remove bottlenecks and improve resilience and scalability.
  • Own endpoint management across Windows (Intune) and macOS (Jamf): policies, compliance, provisioning, and performance.
  • Manage Entra ID, conditional access, SSO/SAML/OIDC integrations, hybrid identity, lifecycle automation, PIM, and B2B/guest governance.
  • Resolve M365 issues across Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint affecting day-to-day productivity.

Lead Technology Strategy and Roadmaps

  • Drive technology strategy including lifecycle management, roadmap planning, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide design guidance across initiatives.
  • Research industry trends and emerging technologies to shape future-state capabilities.
  • Lead adoption of Microsoft Copilot and AI productivity tools, including governance and access controls.

Collaborate and Influence

  • Partner with business leaders, IT, Security, and Compliance to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
  • Use NIST CSF 2.0 as a common language to communicate risk posture, prioritize security investments, and align with workplace technology practices with enterprise risk management objectives.
  • Influence standardized technologies and enterprise engineering practices across teams.
  • Strengthen Service Desk capabilities through documentation, enablement, and reducing escalation volume.

Mentor and Uplift the Team

  • Provide coaching and mentorship; foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development of new associates.
  • Model innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior IT engineering or digital workplace technology role.
  • Advanced technical expertise in at least one digital workplace engineering domain.
  • Experience delivering large-scale, enterprise technology solutions.
  • Deep Microsoft 365 expertise:
  • Exchange Online: mail flow, permissions, DLs, and shared mailboxes.
  • Entra ID (Azure AD): conditional access, group management, and identity governance.
  • SSO, SAML, and OIDC integrations; hybrid identity and Entra Connect.
  • Identity lifecycle automation (Joiner/Mover/Leaver), PIM, and B2B/guest access governance.
  • Endpoint management experience: Windows via Intune and macOS via Jamf or equivalent MDM.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot across the full stack: identity, devices, and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience applying security and compliance frameworks with hands-on ITIL practice across incident, problem, change, and continual service improvement (ITIL certified or equivalent).
  • Workplace knowledge of NIST CSF 2.0 and its practical application to enterprise IT risk management, security best practices, and workplace technology governance.
  • Strategic planning, analytical problem solving, and strong written and verbal communication with senior leaders.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing across teams.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and holding partners accountable to deliverables, SLAs, and contractual commitments.
  • A track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and administering an enterprise ITSM platform (ServiceNow or Jira Service Management preferred).
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
  • GenAI enablement: secure, compliant AI-powered content creation platforms.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading cross-department transformations.
  • User-centered design, rapid prototyping, and product-driven delivery models.
  • Strong testing and automation practices, including automated validation and monitoring.
  • Experience operating across multiple global regions and time zones.
  • SharePoint and OneDrive administration; Teams troubleshooting across chat, meetings, and voice.
  • Familiarity with device lifecycle programs: refresh and asset management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot or other enterprise AI tools.
