Role Overview
Mission Pet Health is seeking a Market Planning & Strategy Intern to support the analytical and strategic planning functions that drive marketing performance and demand generation.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytically minded, and interested in the strategic and data-driven side of marketing. You will work directly with the team responsible for tracking marketing performance, analyzing demand trends, and providing insights that inform marketing strategy and investment decisions.
You will gain hands-on experience working with marketing analytics, pipeline reporting, and competitive intelligence, supporting real business initiatives that impact marketing effectiveness and growth.
What You'll Work On
You will support day-to-day analytics and longer-term strategic initiatives across market planning and performance tracking, including:
  • Assisting with tracking weekly and monthly demand pacing against marketing plans and growth targets
  • Supporting analysis of demand funnel metrics including lead volume, opportunity conversion, and acquisition efficiency
  • Helping prepare recurring reports on pipeline health, performance trends, and demand insights
  • Conducting market scans of competitors to identify emerging trends, threats, and opportunities
  • Assisting with data validation and quality checks across marketing dashboards and reporting tools
  • Supporting campaign performance monitoring and optimization recommendations
  • Working with internal teams to synthesize data into actionable insights for marketing leadership

You will be exposed to systems and processes that power:
  • Marketing performance tracking and pipeline reporting
  • Demand funnel analysis and conversion metrics
  • Competitive intelligence and market monitoring
  • Executive insights reporting and strategic recommendations

What You'll Learn
  • How marketing performance is measured and tracked across channels
  • How to analyze demand funnels and identify drivers of marketing performance
  • How to conduct competitive intelligence and synthesize market insights
  • How to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership
  • How to think strategically about marketing investments, pacing, and optimization

Qualifications
Required:
  • Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, or related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred:
  • Interest in marketing analytics, performance tracking, or business intelligence
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Exposure to digital analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
  • Experience with market research or competitive analysis

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
  • You enjoy working with data and uncovering insights from numbers
  • You catch patterns and anomalies others might miss
  • You are comfortable asking questions and digging into the "why" behind the data
  • You are more interested in strategic thinking and performance optimization than creative execution

Why This Role Matters
