Ames Middle School is seeking Special Education Integrated Services Teachers for the 2026-27 school year.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:


  • Demonstrates the ability to enhance academic performance.
  • Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
  • Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
  • Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
  • Uses effective classroom management strategies.
  • Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: timely and current progress monitoring, uses progress monitoring to guide instruction, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with other educational professionals.
  • Engages in professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Iowa teaching license.
  • Special Education Strategist II: BD/LD  or willingness to obtain required.

  • Ability to bend, lift, sit on the floor, run short distances, and assist physically active students.
  • A basic understanding of the needs of children and the ability to relate to children with different academic and behavioral needs.
