Mission and Scope
The Digital Operations Specialist is responsible for analyzing and executing actionable, data-driven insight related to logistics and fulfillment operations as part of Zumiez's Omni-Channel and Digital strategies. The goal of this position is to improve customer experience, reduce operational costs, and drive incremental revenue.
Core Responsibilities
Digital Operations Management
  • Track progress and trend of fulfillment and B2C logistics
  • Identify potential opportunities for optimization of fulfillment KPIs and make recommendations to Omni Ops leadership
  • Take proactive steps to impact B2C shipping and fulfillment operations
  • Collaborate with Analysts, Operations and Technical teams to maintain documentation and communicate impact of changes
  • Notify stakeholders of key actions and impacts to KPIs

Technical Platform Management
  • Access and impact changes in Ecommerce operational systems, including but not limited to the following: Order Management System, Post-Purchase, Commerce Platform, Transportation Management System, and Carrier Portals.
  • Understand configurations and their impact on business and how to execute changes
  • Establish a firm cross-functional relationship with the Sr. Supply Chain Manger to facilitate B2C shipping changes

Data Analysis and Implementation
  • Work with Digital Business Analyst to ensure necessary daily, weekly & monthly insights are produced and distributed
  • Responsible for regular monitoring of the reporting produced by analysts to understand the health of the various systems and identify opportunities for incremental improvements. Utilize these insights to prioritize competing objectives and inform the best course of action.
  • Monitor the success of each KPI and identify opportunities to optimize through subsequent stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily tracking of sales and shipping activities from the previous day.
  • Weekly reporting of high-level KPI's to provide visibility into operational efficiency for the business team.
  • Run bi-weekly reports that measure all aspects of international web business.
  • Conduct regular analysis of existing business rules and identify opportunities to increase inventory exposure.
  • Attend weekly carrier meetings to ensure B2C objectives and priorities are met by the account team.
  • Provide data that demonstrates results of multi-carrier pilots (time to customer, cost, operational impact).
  • Testing any site/system changes that will impact Omni-channel ecosystem and its data (TMS, OMS)
  • Analyze existing expedited shipping options and assess the feasibility of more aggressive and competitive services.
  • Partner with Ops IT to plan and execute changes to B2C shipping rules and fulfillment logic.

Qualifications
  • A. or B.S. in Business, Data or Social Science, Finance/Economics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of retail operations experience.
  • 1-2 years of project management experience.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in a variety of team collaboration software including JIRA, Confluence and Slack or similar programs.
  • Data-minded individuals who support all decision making based on grounded analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Proven track record of project execution, attention to detail, and relentless drive to have a positive impact on a business or team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and intuitive relationship development.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in retail or logistics is strongly preferred.
