Overview
The Digital Operations Specialist will be the dedicated, on-site (3 times a week) technical enablement partner for the chemical distribution business unit. This role is critical to transforming our operational efficiency by bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution. The specialist will directly support our strategic goal of achieving operational leverage—shrinking the profitability gap by automating processes, ensuring data integrity, and driving user adoption of key digital tools (Power BI, CRM, Gen AI) and support overall digital literacy of the business staff.
Core Responsibilities: DX Enablement
This role is responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance that supports the three pillars of our transformation strategy:
1. Profit Focus & Accountability (Governance)
- Data Stewardship (CRM/O2C Integration): Serve as the technical system administrator for the CRM (Kintone) and steward the data structures in the Order-to-Cash System, as well as evaluating and either implementing or escalating change requests from business side to system owners. This involves configuring CRM fields and workflows to ensure high-quality data is captured for Power BI analysis and establishing analytical data connections between CRM and the O2C System.
- Performance Measurement: Work directly with business leaders (GMs, Sales, Finance) to translate empirical assessments and strategic questions into structured data models and actionable visual metrics.
- Technology Scouting: Serve as the liaison with the Mother Company’s DX Team to learn about and evaluate new enterprise IT tools, Gen AI solutions (and more once applicable) that can provide competitive advantages to the business.
2. Process Automation (Efficiency)
- Custom Tool Development (Gen AI): Lead the development, testing, and deployment of business-specific Gen AI tools using platforms like CoPilot Studio. This includes building and maintaining agents for back-office process support and sales enablement (e.g., automated research, query resolution).
- EC/O2C Technical Management: Act as the first line of technical support for the new E-Commerce Platform. This includes troubleshooting and managing data flow for customer orders entering the Order-to-Cash System platform via API and EDI connections.
- Data Consistency & Display: Ensure the E-Commerce platform accurately displays all order history, regardless of whether the order originated via EC, API, or EDI.
- New Offerings Management: Support the technical configuration of new products and service models, specifically configuring the EC platform to handle complex transactions like subscription-based services (Campaign/Material-as-a-Service).
3. Front Office Optimization (Growth)
- Dashboard Development & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain all standard and ad-hoc Power BI dashboards for the Profit Focus, Sales, and Marketing teams. This includes integrating data from CRM (Kintone), the Order-to-Cash System, and Digital Marketing channels to support real-time feedback loops.
- Digital Enablement & Upskilling: Act as the internal resource to help business users leverage new IT tools (CoPilot, Power BI, CRM) to increase their productivity and drive better decision-making, directly addressing the "untapped technology" issue.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Requirements
● Data Visualization & Analysis: Proven expertise in developing and maintaining complex dashboards using Microsoft Power BI (or equivalent tools).
● CRM Administration: Experience with commercial CRM system administration (e.g., Kintone or similar platforms; adding fields, managing integrations, setting up reports).
● Gen AI/Low-Code Platforms: Hands-on experience developing agents or solutions using Microsoft CoPilot Studio, Power Automate, or similar low-code platforms.
● Integration & Connectivity: Strong foundational understanding of digital data transfer methods (API and EDI) and experience troubleshooting the flow of customer order data into an O2C system like the Order-to-Cash System.
● General Development Background: Have a common understanding on development languages, infrastructure technologies etc. in order to be able to properly explain to business teams the complexity of any given change request or requirement.
Soft Skills & Cultural Fit
● Bridging the Gap: Ability to translate abstract business needs (e.g., "what are areas of opportunity?", "what makes a good salesperson?") into concrete, measurable data requirements.
● Change Management: Patient and consultative approach, capable of overcoming cultural resistance (e.g., low interest in Gen AI, reliance on gut feeling) by demonstrating tangible business value in conjunction with the Mother Company’s DX team.
● Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data stewardship, ensuring the accuracy required for high-stakes profit-per-customer analysis.
