Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, mass communications, journalism or related field.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills and strong writing and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with social media data collection and analytics.
  • Experience in the creation and editing of photographic and video content for digital use.
  • Understanding of website best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience (including internships, academic projects, or personal/professional use) in creating and managing social media initiatives on a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube or other similar platforms.
  • Experience using social media scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite or other equivalent platforms.

Job Description
Texas State University Libraries is seeking a Digital Media Assistant who will play a supporting role in managing the University Libraries' digital media outreach efforts. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of content for social media channels, email marketing efforts, dynamic areas of the UL website, and digital signs.
Job Duties
  • Assist and support with the planning and creation of marketing and communications, both written and visual digital content using Adobe Creative Suite software including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Illustrator or similar tools.
  • Design graphics and outreach materials using Adobe Creative Suite software, Canva or other similar programs under the direction of your supervisor.
  • Assist with the writing of articles and reports and preparing presentations using MS Office software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar programs.
  • Produce, edit, size, and manage photographs for use in marketing and outreach materials using a Canon 35 mm camera under the direction of your supervisor.
  • Assist with the planning and distribution of emails to mass audiences and evaluate effectiveness using email marketing tool like MS Dynamics, Constant Contact, etc.
  • Support the monitoring and management of content on the University Libraries social media channels and website.
  • Assist with the management of digital sign content.
  • Effectively manage overlapping projects and assignments.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
