Job Summary
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will provide support to the Director of Marketing and Communications, helping execute marketing, branding, public relations, and community outreach strategies. This role plays a vital part in increasing awareness of BGCGNWI programs, events, and initiatives, while also supporting membership recruitment, fundraising campaigns, and overall visibility across all communication platforms.
Hourly Wage: $12
Start Date: Fall 2026
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media
  • Assist in creating and scheduling social media posts across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
  • Collect and curate photos, videos, and stories from Club sites and events for use in marketing campaigns.
  • Support in capturing, editing, and organizing multimedia content (photography and videography) for digital and print use.

Marketing & Branding Support
  • Help implement brand standards across all Club communications and visuals.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials such as flyers, newsletters, banners, brochures, and email campaigns.
  • Coordinate distribution of promotional materials including direct mailers, handouts, and Club signage.

Event & Campaign Support
  • Support the planning and execution of marketing efforts tied to Club events, recruitment campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist with logistics and marketing tasks related to special events and community outreach (e.g., event photography, setting up promotional displays, managing RSVP lists).
  • Provide administrative and creative support during cause-related marketing efforts.

Communications & Public Relations
  • Support internal communications efforts, helping to ensure staff are informed of marketing initiatives and updates.
  • Maintain and update media contact lists and assist with preparing press releases or media kits when needed.
  • Monitor social media and local media outlets for mentions, trends, and engagement opportunities.

Administrative & Strategic Support
  • Help track performance metrics related to digital campaigns, membership outreach, and community engagement.
  • Organize and maintain digital asset library (photos, videos, graphics).
  • Assist with vendor coordination (e.g., printers, photographers, media partners).
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute creative ideas to enhance outreach efforts.

Qualifications
  • An approved participant in the federal work study program at our partnership schools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
