Job description

Crawfordsville, Indiana: Light Picker/Packer: 3rd shift $18.40/hr

Penguin Random House is the premier provider of distribution services in the publishing industry. Our state-of-the-art national fulfillment center, located in Crawfordsville Indiana, is seeking quality workers ready and available to work an agreed upon work schedule. It is only with a dedicated staff we are able to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations by picking, packing and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers around the world.

We have immediate openings for Light Picker/Packers on 3rd shift. $18.40/hr.

Sunday - Thursday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.

Sunday - Thursday 11:30 pm to 7:30 am

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation

  • Process customer book returns in a variety of ways

  • Using a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment

  • Requires basic reading and math skills

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)

  • Must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working on an upper mezzanine level

  • Must follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment

  • Must possess the flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs

  • Minimum age requirement is 16

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain good overall safety and attendance record

  • Work well in a team-orientated environment

  • Must adhere to all established safety and precaution measures. The Health and Safety of all our employees is critical.

  • Must be flexible and cross-trained in other areas to assist with work in other departments based on business needs
