Position Summary

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the site engineering function and ensuring the successful execution of engineering initiatives and capital projects. This role oversees technical problem-solving, supports plant operations, and ensures all engineering activities align with safety, quality, and performance standards.



Key Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects from planning through execution, including equipment installations, facility upgrades, and process expansions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Drive operational improvements through optimized equipment, layouts, and processes, utilizing Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Partner with EHS leadership to ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and internal standards
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure engineering solutions meet food safety and product quality requirements
  • Implement energy and sustainability initiatives to reduce utilities consumption and improve environmental performance (e.g., water, waste programs)
  • Develop and manage engineering and capital budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support site objectives
  • Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and engineering firms to deliver innovative and effective solutions


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • 7+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing environments
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Background in food or beverage manufacturing strongly preferred (dairy or similar processes a plus)
  • Proven experience managing capital projects, maintenance programs, and process improvements


Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with automation and controls (PLCs), as well as CAD tools
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems
