JOB LOCATION - BANDON, OR


HOURLY RATE $28-$30 per hour

Job Purpose:

  • The Yard Sales Associate 1 CDL Driver at Gold Beach Lumber Yard Inc. is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing the transportation and delivery of lumber and building materials. This role combines sales expertise with driving responsibilities to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations within the yard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in selecting lumber and building materials, providing product knowledge and recommendations to meet their needs.
  • Operate a commercial vehicle to transport materials to and from the yard, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring accuracy and care to prevent damage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for customers and staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders and meet customer expectations promptly.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock checks and restocking shelves as necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to sales and deliveries.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to sales and driving responsibilities.

This position requires Boom Truck Operation


Qualifications


Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a lumber yard or related industry.
  • Proven experience in operating commercial vehicles and handling deliveries.
  • Experience in customer service or sales is an advantage.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and sales transactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to yard operations and vehicle maintenance.
