Position Overview


The Real Estate Development Associate plays a key role in advancing development initiatives and managing projects throughout the development lifecycle.


The Development Associate works closely with senior leadership to move projects from concept through completion while coordinating consultants, managing milestones, and analyzing project feasibility.


Key Responsibilities


Development Project Leadership

  • Support projects through all phases of development including predevelopment, financing, construction, and stabilization.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and development milestones.
  • Assist in site selection, acquisitions, and project feasibility assessments.

Financial & Feasibility Analysis

  • Assist in the development of project financial models and pro formas.
  • Conduct market, zoning, and feasibility analysis.
  • Assist in the analysis of financial statements, audits, tax returns, and compliance documentation.

Financing & Deal Execution

  • Prepare financing applications including tax credits, grants, and loans.
  • Coordinate RFP, RFQ, and funding proposal submissions.
  • Assist with negotiations with lenders, investors, and public agencies.
  • Maintain documentation related to financing closings and approvals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Partners Southeast with community stakeholders and development partners.
  • Participate in community engagement and neighborhood planning initiatives.
  • Build relationships with public and private sector partners.

Construction & Implementation

  • Attend construction meetings and monitor development progress.
  • Prepare project progress reports and internal updates.

Strategic Research

  • Research housing policy, development trends, and funding opportunities.
  • Identify potential development opportunities aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Urban Planning, Business, Public Administration or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites.

Candidates without direct real estate experience but with demonstrated analytical strength, leadership involvement, or internship experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
