Job description

The Engineering Manager leads the Manufacturing and Test Engineering team at the Mesa, AZ production facility and ensures that manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety requirements and quality standards. The Engineering Manager collaborates with Operations, Quality, and Planning teams to ensure we manufacture high quality products in a repeatable and cost-effective manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide leadership and ongoing coaching to the Manufacturing Engineering & Test Engineering teams dedicated to supporting production. Establish objectives, schedules, and priorities for the Engineering team. Plan and coordinate required resources for the Engineering team. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, work flow, and design layout of equipment / work space for maximum efficiency. Define, propose, and implement capital equipment for process improvements. Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary problem solving teams. Help determine and implement solutions. Make product dependent process and flow presentations to customers. Maximize product quality and minimize product liability exposure by utilization of manufacturing technology and quality control. Provide key inputs and drive DFX (Design for Manufacturability, Design for Cost, Design for Test etc.) during design reviews/changes. Develop efficient and quality-driven manufacturing processes for new products using Lean Manufacturing techniques. Manage and facilitate transition of new product from engineering to production as well as facility transfers and set up. Establish and maintain work instructions for new and existing products to optimize manufacturability. Establish and meet schedules for the introduction of new methods, new products or cost reductions. Review the engineering change and release activity. Job Requirements BS in Engineering. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum 8 years Manufacturing Engineering experience Minimum 5 years New Product Introduction experience Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and problem solving skills Ability to interact well and coach team members Excellent computer skills.
