Job description

Technical Systems Support Specialist
ITnova is seeking a Technical Systems Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support for IT systems, including servers, desktops, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications. This role involves troubleshooting escalated issues, supporting system administration functions, and collaborating with Client staff and contractors to ensure secure, stable, and efficient IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for IT systems, hardware, and software across various Client environments.
  • Deliver support, management, and installation services for desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft Server.
  • Work collaboratively with Client staff and contractors; attend internal Client meetings as required.
  • Review weekly and monthly vulnerability assessments; partner with Client IT teams to plan and execute remediation.
  • Administer and manage virtualization platforms such as Omnissa Horizon Client, and assist with the management of DMZ servers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated service desk tickets requiring advanced technical expertise.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Client Division of Information Technology management.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related field
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Family, including any Windows Server Version 2016 or greater.
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Intune, Microsoft SMS.
  • Server security, including group policy and related tools
  • Administering server and desktop virtualization technology, including Omnissa (formerly VMWare).

Specialized Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in the supervision of system engineers, and demonstrated use of interactive, interpretative systems with on-line, real-time acquisition capabilities.
  • Experience providing technical systems support in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Knowledge of server and desktop operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., Omnissa Horizon, VMware, or similar).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving technical requirements
