As an Designer for Reimbursement Support, you will join our team on a journey to help eliminate barriers for patients, increase their access to medications, and help them receive lifesaving treatments while working in an environment that nurtures you.
The Designer for Reimbursement Support facilitates the detailed design session(s) to collaborate with the client, internal stakeholders and external partners, to successfully design and implement programs.


  • Subject Matter Expert in Market Access with a strong understanding of Patient Affordability services, understands capabilities, lead timelines, production timelines to facilitate the design and launch of new client programs 
  • Supports new and existing program design and implementation processes across assigned Mercalis services
  • Lead and coordinate with Mercalis resources for the detailed design of client programs as the primary point of contact, navigating with both client and internal stakeholders throughout the program design phase for all contracted Mercalis services
  • Gather detailed operational and IT requirements to support program scoping, pricing, and implementation
  • Lead discussions and collect requirements information with clients needed for program design
  • Build design documentation in collaboration with client, internal stakeholders, and other vendors
  • Develop and review recommended processes, systems, technology, and roles with the client for each of the Mercalis proposed solutions
  • Submit work requests via designated ticketing system to appropriate service owner(s)
  • Partner with internal service & product owner(s) as a consultant in the development and/or configuration of implementation deliverables to ensure adherence to the program or service design
  • Stay connected to the operations and IT teams on process and system upgrades to ensure the latest technology is implemented with our new client onboarding projects
  • Serve as a resource for program stakeholders who are responsible for implementation deliverables
  • Facilitate and lead the distribution of requirements to internal and external stakeholders who will be responsible for completing implementation deliverables
  • Coordinate evaluation of custom requirements with client and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with project managers to ensure adherence to deliverables and timelines
  • Obtain final approval and sign off for all program elements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct lessons learned and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful program designs
  • Integrate appropriate recommendations into the best practices for future design management

  • Previously served in the following departments at Mercalis or comparable roles at a similar organization – Program Management - Patient Affordability/Market Access, Project Management, Solutions Delivery, Product Owner or Business Analyst
  • Possess a firm understanding of Accumulator & Maximizer Solutions
  • Exceptional note taking skills are required to capture internal & external discussions for visibility to all stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 10+ years of demonstrated strong program design performance or related responsibilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, often with competing priorities
  • Ability and willingness to take responsibility of delivery from a diverse and often distributed team without formal authority; ability to interact collaboratively with internal stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills for self and project team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have for success
  • Must have the business acumen to understand the value to Mercalis and the customer of good scope control as a key part of the project execution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee creation of and adherence to project plans
  • Must be skilled at conflict resolution in building collaborative solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.   • Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
