Position Summary

The Job Coach provides on-the-job training, support, and guidance to consumers participating in community-based employment and paid internship programs. This role helps individuals develop job skills, achieve workplace independence, and meet employer expectations while ensuring a safe, supportive, and professional work environment. The Job Coach serves as a liaison between consumers, employers, and agency staff to promote successful employment outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on job coaching, training, and support to consumers at community-based employment sites.
  • Assist consumers in learning job duties, workplace expectations, and safe work practices.
  • Complete task analyses and monitor consumer progress toward independence.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including daily case notes, evaluations, schedules, and incident reports.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with employers, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Attend consumer-related meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions as assigned.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all consumer information and maintain professional conduct at all times.
  • Support consumers using individualized coaching methods that encourage independence and natural workplace supports.
  • Monitor workplace safety and comply with agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding significant events, concerns, or consumer progress.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory or related work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic computer skills.
  • Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel between worksites using a personal vehicle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive working relationships.

Preferred

  • Degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in vocational training, employment services, or community-based support programs.

Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time position with a variable schedule based on client and assignment needs. Employees typically work between 2535 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week depending on assignments. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours Monday through Friday, as well as weekends, between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.

Employees are required to use a personal vehicle to travel between work sites. Reimbursed travel time and mileage are provided at the established company rate.

  • Employees working more than five hours per shift will receive one 30-minute unpaid, off-duty meal period. In addition, employees working less than six hours per shift will receive one paid, off-duty break, while employees working more than six hours per shift will receive two paid, off-duty breaks.
  • Hourly Rate: $19 per hour
