About this role:

The Chief Operating Office Technology (COO Tech) organization provides technology services supporting the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and corporate properties. COO Technology delivers and manages application portfolios to enable modernization and operational efficiency.
Within COO Technology, we are seeking a Digital Accessibility Tester (Lead Accessible User Experience Specialist). This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on accessibility testing and assistive technology (AT) tools, working in a highly collaborative Agile environment to support scrum teams in delivering accessible digital solutions.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead accessibility testing efforts across Agile development lifecycles, including use of assistive technologies and interpretation of results
  • Drive complex digital initiatives aligned to accessibility strategy and user experience outcomes
  • Evaluate and analyze content, product, and customer experience components to ensure accessibility compliance
  • Identify accessibility risks and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Resolve complex issues and provide actionable recommendations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to achieve project goals
  • Lead or contribute to projects, mentor junior team members, and support delivery of team objectives
  • Conduct research on accessibility trends, tools, and best practices
  • Ensure adherence to risk management, compliance, and business process standards


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Graphic or Website Design experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience with accessibility methods, standards, and testing, including web-based sites and platforms, mobile software applications (iOS, Android, Windows), and PDF creation, tagging, and testing
  • 4+ years of experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • 4+ years of experience with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, Voiceover, or Talkback
  • 2+ years of experience using industry tools such as Deque aXe


Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Experience working with in-house development teams or agencies supporting Fortune 500 clients
  • Strong ability to communicate accessibility issues to technical teams (including ARIA, HTML, mobile)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated innovation in solving accessibility challenges
  • Experience in Agile environments
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Relevant industry certification (e.g. International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), etc.)
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title I and Title II, and Section 508
