Job description

ECMSI is seeking a detail-driven Sales Engineer to support our sales team by building accurate, standardized customer quotes from ConnectWise opportunities. This role focuses on translating sales and technical requirements into professional proposals that align with ECMSI standards, approved vendors, and margin expectations. We primarily sell and support Fortinet, Ubiquiti (UniFi), and Dell servers and workstations. This position works closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations in an in-person office environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Build and manage customer quotes from ConnectWise Manage/PSA opportunities

· Create accurate proposals for Fortinet firewalls, switches, wireless, and licensing

· Create accurate proposals for Ubiquiti (UniFi) networking and wireless equipment

· Create accurate proposals for Dell servers, storage, and workstations

· Ensure all quotes follow ECMSI quoting standards, formats, and pricing guidelines

· Translate sales input and technical requirements into complete, well-scoped proposals

· Quote hardware, software, labor, and managed/professional services

· Validate configurations, scope, assumptions, and margins prior to submission

· Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to clarify requirements and reduce post-sale issues

· Maintain and update product catalogs, bundles, and pricing in ConnectWise

· Support revisions, re-quotes, and change requests as opportunities progress

· Assist with clean handoff documentation to project and service delivery teams

Required Qualifications

· Experience working with ConnectWise (Manage/PSA and quoting tools)

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Working knowledge of IT infrastructure solutions

· Experience with Fortinet and/or Ubiquiti (UniFi) products

· Experience with Dell servers and workstations

· Understanding of Microsoft 365 and cloud services

· Ability to follow defined standards and processes

· Strong written communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in a Sales Engineer, Pre-Sales, or Technical Sales Support role

· MSP or IT services industry experience

· Familiarity with Fortinet product lines (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, licensing)

· Familiarity with UniFi networking products

· Familiarity with Dell PowerEdge servers and Dell business-class workstations

· Experience supporting sales teams without carrying a sales quota
