STS Technical Services is hiring Weld Expeditors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Position Overview
The Weld Expeditor plays a critical role in coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring the timely flow of welded components through the fabrication process. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure all projects stay on schedule without compromising safety or quality.
Responsibilities (What You'll Be Doing)
  • Monitor daily weld shop schedules and track progress of welded components to ensure timely completion
  • Act as the primary point of contact between welders, supervisors, and production management to resolve bottlenecks and prioritize workload
  • Verify the accuracy of work orders, drawings, and materials before components are released to welding
  • Coordinate with material handlers and inventory to ensure parts, fixtures, and consumables are available for welders
  • Expedite rework or priority jobs as required to meet customer deadlines
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work order status and communicate updates to leadership daily
  • Collaborate with fabrication, paint, and assembly departments to ensure smooth workflow throughout production

Requirements (What It Takes to Be Successful)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or welding coursework preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or welding environment
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication, and metalwork
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and welding symbols
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP system experience preferred)
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while supporting team goals
  • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive legally between manufacturing locations (all in greater Milwaukee)
