Job Summary:Ensure great customer service by dealing a standardized, smooth and mechanically efficient game. Control game action and players. Ensure games are dealt and collections taken in agreement with card club policy and procedures. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.
  • Obtain bank and have sufficient chips for change, collection drop and jackpot drops
  • Responsible for all chips and money in the rack
  • Begin dealer rotation in complete uniform and maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of all card club tournaments and promotions.
  • Enter box, give and receive any information about games with outgoing dealer.
  • Running the game in an efficient manner.
  • Take proper collection drops and jackpot drops.
  • Notify Board or Floor Person of any vacant seats
  • Call Floor Person for any problems or decisions.
  • Inform Floor person of short games before they break
  • Follow card club policies regarding conduct and playing on shift.
  • Cooperate with all floor personnel.
  • Provide a friendly, congenial, harmonious atmosphere for customers to enjoy themselves.
  • Make up both decks of cards when games break.
  • Do whatever is necessary to maintain the appearance of the card club
  • Any other related tasks as directed by the Shift Manager , such as Customer Service , tournament administration, players cards, chips, etc.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6 months previous poker dealing experience in a live poker room.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, pleasant personality, able to handle pressure and difficult situations.
  • Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bravo experience.
