JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Program Worker
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
• Ability to perform routine food service work as instructed.
• Physical strength necessary to perform occasional lifting and carrying.
• Ability to learn the operation of food service equipment.
• Ability to maintain reasonable standards of cleanliness and sanitation in serving areas.
• Appearance and personal cleanliness suited to working in close proximity to food service customers.
• Must be a Certified Food Handler as certified by the Jefferson County Department of Health.
• Ability to work with others.
• Must maintain regular attendance.
JOB GOAL: An hourly position which involves serving students an attractive, nutritious meal
in a timely manner and in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follows Child Nutrition Program Manager's instructions in the preparation and serving of
food.
• Follows standards of safety in preparing, storing and serving food.
• Assists in washing pots, pans, and utensils.
• Assists in keeping serving areas and floors clean of spilled foods and other hazardous items.
• Assists in cleaning kitchens and dining areas including sweeping and mopping floors and cleaning garbage cans.
• Assists in keeping adequate food on serving line.
• Maintains trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
• Assists in stocking and rotating of inventory.
• Attends job related training classes and workshops.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned by Child Nutrition Program Manager.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Elementary Schools - 186 days
Secondary Schools - 178 days
