Laborer

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of general labor tasks to support heavy civil construction, working closely with heavy equipment operators in congested or tight areas to ensure efficient site preparation
  • Assist with tasks such as trenching, material handling and cutting and clueing conduit piping
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with crew members, supervisors, and subcontractors
  • Promote a culture of safety and productivity by following all company, client, and regulatory safety standards and procedures

Qualifications

  • One-year prior experience working in a mining, utilities or earth works environment as a laborer; a background as a track hoe or skid steer operator is preferred
  • Proactive and independent self-starter who is safety focused
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices; OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
  • Must be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol test and provided a valid driver's license

Working Conditions

  • Monday to Friday working from 7 am to 3 pm, working 8 hours per day, overtime rates apply after 40 hours worked per week and could be available at the discretion of the client
  • Living out allowance provided to those that are eligible
  • This is a long term, site-based opportunity that will require travel
