Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Daycare Director to lead the daily operations of our Early Learning Center. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality childcare services, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and a positive learning environment for children and families. The ideal candidate meets Georgia licensing requirements for a Child Care Learning Center Director and demonstrates strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all daily operations of the center, including staffing, scheduling, and program implementation.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulations set by Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) (Bright from the Start).
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and ensure proper supervision at all times.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching staff and support personnel.
  • Develop and enforce center policies and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).
  • Manage enrollment, family relations, and community outreach.
  • Maintain accurate records, including licensing documentation, staff files, and children’s records.
  • Oversee health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the facility.
  • Manage center budget, tuition collection, and basic financial operations.
  • Handle parent concerns and maintain strong communication with families.
  • Coordinate ongoing professional development and ensure staff meet annual training requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Georgia Requirements):
  • Must meet Director qualifications established by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL).
  • One of the following is typically required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
    • Associate degree in ECE or related field with experience.
    • Valid CDA credential with significant experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Must pass a Comprehensive Background Check (CBC).
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Completion of required annual professional development training hours.
