Job Title: Tier 2 IT Support Engineer (MSP Environment - In Office + Field Work)
Location: Elgin, IL
Salary: Up to $75,000/year
Job Type: Full-time, In-Office with Occasional Field Visits
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment? Do you enjoy troubleshooting challenging issues and working directly with clients to make their IT lives easier? If so, we'd love to meet you.
We're looking for a Tier 2 IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. This is an in-office position with occasional on-site visits to client locations. You'll play a key role in supporting our managed services clients, working alongside a tight-knit team of professionals who genuinely enjoy what they do.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Provide Tier 2 remote and in-person support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking issues, and business applications.
  • Assist with server maintenance, network configurations, and cloud services support (Microsoft 365, Azure, etc.).
  • Handle escalations from Tier 1 support and communicate with vendors as needed.
  • Monitor client systems and respond to alerts via RMM tools.
  • Participate in client projects such as workstation deployments, firewall upgrades, or system migrations.
  • Document work thoroughly in our ticketing and documentation systems.
  • Occasionally visit client sites to resolve issues or complete hands-on installations (valid driver's license and reliable transportation required).

What We're Looking For:
  • 2-4 years of experience in an MSP or similar multi-client IT support environment.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft environments (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365).
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, routers/switches).
  • Comfortable working with RMM and PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, Autotask, etc.).
  • Great communication skills-both with team members and non-technical clients.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to IT equipment installation.

Bonus Points For:
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, etc.)
