Job Summary
We are seeking three HR Data Entry Specialists for a contract opportunity in the Torrey Pines area of San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for detail-oriented Human Resources professionals who enjoy high-volume data entry, HR record accuracy, and supporting the employee lifecycle within a shared services environment.
The HR Data Entry Specialist will focus heavily on accurate HR data processing, including employee status changes, I-9 validation, transfers, organizational changes, promotions, and terminations. This is a great opportunity to work with a professional HR team in a structured, collaborative environment where accuracy, reliability, and teamwork are highly valued.
This contract assignment is expected to last 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extension or hire based on performance and business needs, though conversion is not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume HR data entry with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Process employee lifecycle updates, including status changes, transfers, promotions, organizational changes, and terminations.
- Validate I-9 documentation and support compliance-related HR recordkeeping.
- Review HR transactions and employee data for accuracy before updating systems.
- Partner with HR shared services team members to resolve data discrepancies and support timely processing.
- Maintain organized HR records while following established policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour.
- Contract duration: 6 to 12 months.
- Schedule: Day shift hours.
- Location: Torrey Pines area of San Diego, CA.
- Assignment type: Contract/temporary, with possible hire based on performance and business needs, but no guarantee.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform accurate HR data entry for employee lifecycle transactions.
- Validate I-9 records and support HR compliance documentation.
- Process HR changes related to transfers, promotions, organizational updates, and terminations.
- Support shared services HR operations through timely and accurate record maintenance.
- High school diploma required.
- 4 years of experience in data entry, Human Resources, or a related administrative HR support role.
- Working knowledge of the HR lifecycle, including employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume data entry role.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow established processes and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a structured HR shared services environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an HR shared services, HR operations, or HRIS support environment.
- Experience validating I-9 documentation or supporting HR compliance processes.
- Familiarity with HR systems used for employee data, status changes, and personnel record updates.
