Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Data Stewardship leads enterprisewide data stewardship initiatives to enhance data quality, trust, accessibility and compliance across the Marriott Data, AI and Analytics organization. This role partners closely with business, technology, analytics, privacy, compliance and enterprise architecture teams to establish governance frameworks, operationalize stewardship practices and drive continued adoption of data management capabilities including metadata management, data catalog, lineage and data quality programs.
This role reports within the Data & AI Governance organization and will work within the Data Catalog and Metadata Management function. This role combines strategic leadership with handson execution to mature enterprise data governance and management capabilities. This role will also serve as the product owner for the enterprise Data Catalog driving platform maturity, adoption, and overall catalog health.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years in data stewardship, governance, or data management.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience leading data stewardship programs and teams.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance frameworks and operating models

  • Strong knowledge of data quality, metadata, and governance practices.

  • Excellent training, mentoring, and communication skills.

  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and resolve complex data issues.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across business units.

  • Familiarity with DAMADMBOK principles and governance best practices

  • Experience with data management tooling to include data catalog and metadata management capabilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead programs to improve the quality, integrity, and accessibility of enterprise data

  • Establish data stewardship governance, frameworks and operating models based on best practices.

  • Facilitate data stewardship governance forums and working groups

  • Define accountability models for data ownership and stewards

  • Align governance initiatives with strategy, regulatory obligations and risk management priorities

  • Promote stewardship adoption, accountability, and data ownership across

  • Oversee stewardship activities, data quality initiatives, and issue resolution.

  • Collaborate with business units to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

  • Train and mentor data stewards, fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Monitor data usage, compliance, and stewardship metrics.

  • Manage data catalog health metrics and drive continuous improvement across data management processes

  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and documentation efforts.

  • Drive continuous improvement in data management and stewardship processes.

  • Develop and maintain stewardship documentation and training materials.

  • Report on stewardship program outcomes to leadership.
