At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
Schwab Technology Services (STS) is at the forefront of enabling how clients manage their financial lives through modern, scalable, and reliable technology platforms. As a Senior Data Platform Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategy, adoption, and measurable impact of enterprise data platforms that power business decisions and client experiences.
In this role, you will serve as a strategic product leader for Schwab Data platform capabilities, operating at the intersection of business strategy, data, and technology. This role requires someone who can translate complex business needs into scalable platform solutions, align priorities across stakeholders, and ensure investments generate meaningful outcomes and ROI.
You will partner closely with senior leaders, engineering teams, analysts, and platform users to bring clarity to complex problems, influence direction, and move initiatives from concept through execution. Success in this role requires strong executive communication, the ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences, and comfort working across both strategic planning and hands-on delivery. You will lead working sessions, support prioritization and decision-making, manage risks and dependencies, and establish the rhythms, metrics, and stakeholder engagement needed to advance platform initiatives. As a subject matter leader for assigned platforms, you will help bridge business and technical teams, strengthen adoption, and continuously improve platform value across the enterprise.
What you have
Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience owning and driving initiatives from problem definition through execution, including requirements, delivery, and measurable outcomes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly messaging and influence stakeholders across business, data, and engineering teams
  • Experience facilitating working sessions, aligning stakeholders, and driving decisions in cross-functional, matrixed environments
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, apply analytical thinking, and drive clear, outcome-oriented decisions
  • Experience translating business needs into actionable product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, success metrics)
  • Ability to operate independently, influence without authority, and drive progress across multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration and delivery platforms

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, 7+ years of experience in product, platform, or strategy roles within data or technology-driven environments
  • Experience supporting or building data platforms, data products, or data-driven solutions
  • Exposure to data strategy, analytics, or data platform transformation initiatives
  • Experience defining product vision, shaping roadmaps, and leading prioritization aligned to business outcomes and ROI
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Experience leading planning forums, roadmap discussions, and prioritization exercises across business and technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to drive platform adoption, improve usability, and deliver measurable impact
  • Technical fluency in data and system design concepts, with the ability to bridge conversations between engineering and business teams (cloud experience, especially GCP, is a plus)
  • Background in management consulting or similar environments with strong exposure to strategy, analytics, or technology transformation
