Job description

Position Description:
The Operations Analytics Manager delivers insightful analytics, themes, and solution recommendations to commercial leaders across Steel & Pipe Supply. The role manages all front-end Power BI analytics and data to ensure all output and recommendations are of the highest quality and accuracy. The Operations Analytics Manager is responsible for the generation and analysis of all operations data analytics and partners closely with the SPS Data Analytics team on data architecture, data flow, and data tool and reporting tool construction and quality assurance. Partnering closely with all Operations Managers and executives and other members of the senior and extended leadership team as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Delivers meaningful analytics-based trends and recommendations to operational and administrative leadership
  • Leverages and continuously improves all analytics software, apps, tools, etc. to ensure the most accurate data
  • Consults with operational leadership team members to deliver insights and solutions related to the various initiatives deployed throughout the organization
  • Works in collaborative partnership with the SPS Data Analytics Team to ensure data and data tools are of the highest quality and effectiveness
  • Transform administrative operational data into scalable business intelligence solutions and other business outcomes
    • Credit Collections, Inventory Accuracy Analysis, Master Data Accuracy, and Weekly Warehouse Performance (WPE)
  • Leads exploratory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis
  • Proactively identifies, develops, and analyzes key drivers and metrics to support decision-making and progress tracking
  • Ensures the timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of business results.

Physical & Work Requirements:
  • Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer
  • Ability to work in office environment
  • 0-10% travel

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
  • 5+ years of demonstrable analytics experience
  • Mastery of specific data analytics technology
  • Working knowledge of data architecture and flow
