Job description

Senior Data Analyst – Overland Park, KS (MMGY Global)

As a key piece of the Data Strategy and Analytics team, the Senior Data Analyst will leverage media, measurement, and data analytics experience to serve as a senior individual contributor on MMGY's Data Strategy team, reporting to the SVP of Data. This role is responsible for translating available data resources into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for internal teams and external clients, and for supporting MMGY Media via performance analytics for select clients. The ideal candidate operates with autonomy, client presence, and strategic judgment – owning workstreams end to end and representing Data Strategy in client‑facing settings.

Duties & Responsibilities Data Strategy & Audience Intelligence
  • Collaborate with MMGY Account, Media, Social, Paid Search, Creative, and MarTech teams to understand available client data sources and tools, translating data into value for the MMGY media client base.
  • Support and independently execute audience segmentation and modeling projects in partnership with Account Management and Integrated Planning leaders, including data analysis, insights creation, and client presentations.
  • Execute strategies related to MMGY audience products, including TRiPs and Terminal audiences, from analysis through activation.
  • Conduct Share of Wallet competitive analysis for MMGY media and data strategy clients, capturing client organizational goals, securing data to conduct analysis, and communicating results with go‑forward strategy recommendations.
  • Conduct seasonal market and audience analysis and deliver recommendations to the MMGY Media team in line with seasonal planning efforts.
  • Support offline performance matchback reporting in partnership with consumer database providers.
  • Partner with MMGY Travel Intelligence to refine Terminal, TRiPs, and other data strategy products, researching the latest technology and travel insight trends to maintain their USP and relevance.
  • Be proactive in discovering new ways to highlight the value and communicate the specifics of MMGY Data Strategy products.
  • Collaborate with MMGY’s audience activation partners and sellers, driving revenue through MMGY audience usage within and outside the walls of MMGY media activation; track and report audience sale revenue in partnership with MMGY Finance team.
Database Management and Data Collection
  • Analyze results, visualize performance, and identify trends that provide actionable insights based on available data, connecting media delivery data to client business outcomes.
  • Operationalize existing data strategy processes via standardization and automation – building repeatable, scalable workflows (SQL, BigQuery, scripting) that reduce manual effort and improve turnaround.
  • Create well‑organized, client‑ready analysis presentations that lead with insight and recommendation rather than data description.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide thought leadership in internal meetings, delivering specific, influential recommendations supported by data and analysis.
  • Serve as a primary representative for Data Strategy in meetings, both internal and with clients, including onboarding, client visits, and key reporting periods for the assigned portfolio.
  • Build relationships and trust with key client stakeholders, operating as a strategic partner rather than a report producer.
  • Provide informal training, direction, and guidance to analysts across the broader analytics organization; contribute to best‑practice documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Hold self accountable to all client and internal deadlines, proactively flagging risks and managing expectations with minimal oversight.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related technical field is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, audience modeling, performance tracking and analysis, and cross‑channel program measurement, ideally within a media or marketing agency environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of web analytics and ad serving tools (Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Google Campaign Manager 360).
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehouse environments (BigQuery preferred), with the ability to independently query, join, and QA large multi‑platform datasets.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience using data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio) for client dashboard reporting, plus proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects end to end: scoping, analysis, insight development, and client presentation.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a team and collaborate with and influence others, including senior internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, deals well with ambiguity, strong time management, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation delivery to client audiences.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with audience data, segmentation, and consumer databases (e.g., Epsilon, Experian, MRI‑Simmons) and applying them to media planning and activation.
  • Experience automating reporting and data workflows using scripting (Python, Google Apps Script) or workflow tools.
  • Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing, or a demonstrated interest in the category.
  • Familiarity with media mix concepts, incrementality, and matchback measurement approaches.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior analysts, even without formal management responsibility.
  • Experience with campaign and website tagging and tracking systems (Google Tag Manager, Floodlight, tag auditing and troubleshooting).
Benefits & EEO Statement
  • MMGY Global provides a comprehensive PTO + benefits package that includes a hybrid telework policy.
  • Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.
  • MMGY Global is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
