Barbaricum is seeking a mission-driven Junior Data Analyst to support data-centric projects for a high-visibility government customer. This role is ideal for early-career analysts who are eager to apply data science principles to national security challenges and collaborate across disciplines to surface insights that drive action. The analyst will work with structured and unstructured data, blending analytical techniques with clear communication to enable decision-making at scale.

Core Responsibilities

  • Gather and reformat data from Government-identified primary and secondary sources for human and machine analysis.
  • Use Python-based statistical tools (e.g., NumPy) and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) to analyze datasets and identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to mission outcomes.
  • Prepare analytical reports that clearly communicate findings to executive leadership in the context of local, national, and global security trends.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and mission stakeholders to recommend system improvements and develop policies for data governance.
  • Document the data analysis process in a way that enables reproducibility and transparency for Government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • A certificate in Data Science or Data Engineering may supplement a non-technical degree.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience applying data analysis principles, including predictive analytics and working with on-prem and cloud-based data systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Python, including use of libraries like NumPy or pandas.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) methodologies, API integrations, and database design.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends and build diagnostic or predictive models.
  • Experience preparing data-driven deliverables for non-technical leadership audiences.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with git-based version control systems.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps or analytics development workflows.
