Contractor - Human Resources
Location: Open to hybrid in Pensacola, FL, Winchester, VA, or Vienna VA.
Role Overview
In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders and analysts to understand data needs, capture requirements, and perform data collection, processing, and cleaning. You will provide inputs for data science and business intelligence projects and conduct analysis on large data sets to support organizational objectives. This position involves solving a range of problems with some increased scope and complexity.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of technical requirements, including data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements; conduct data UAT and research on data accuracy, validation, and integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.
  • Identify and compile data sets using various tools to help predict, improve, and measure key business outcomes.
  • Document data collection, cleaning, and governance procedures to ensure transparency, repeatability, and compliance with data governance standards.
  • Clean and organize raw data and generate descriptive statistics for business intelligence and data science projects.
  • Partner with senior staff to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in team projects and initiatives.
  • Provide data research and write data queries for smaller analytics projects.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar quantitative field is required.
Experience: This position requires 2-5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, along with a basic understanding of the business and operating environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Skill in data manipulation and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Advanced data cleaning and preprocessing techniques and tools.
  • Skill with analytical techniques for data usage and cleaning.
  • Ability to interpret, extrapolate, and interpolate data for statistical research and modeling.
  • Knowledge of various data structures and the ability to extract data using visualization tools like Power BI or Excel.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
