3Core Systems is looking for a Senior IT Business/Data Analyst for one of our clients in Deerfield Beach FL (Hybrid - 3 Days a week onsite)

Title: Senior IT Business/Data Analyst
Location: Deerfield Beach FL (Hybrid - 3 Days a week onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Needs an exceptionally strong Business Analyst to support the creation of a digital tax hub focused on discretionary investments.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong Business Analyst experience in complex financial environments
  • High-level knowledge of tax, finance, investments, treasury, revenue, and strategic finance
  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior IT Business/Data Analyst Contractor serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, vendors, and enterprise partners. This role supports a broad portfolio of work that includes projects, discretionary value-add initiatives (eg technology reviews, process improvements, reporting needs, integrations, operational readiness activities and existing application support. The position is expected to combine strong business analysis discipline with practical data analysis skills to clarify needs, evaluate options, define requirements, assess impacts, support decision-making, and ensure technology solutions deliver measurable business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead structured discovery, requirements elicitation, and alignment discussions with business, technical, vendor, application support, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Translate business goals, pain points, improvement opportunities, risks, and operational needs into clear business, functional, non-functional, data, reporting, integration, enhancement, and support requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality analysis artifacts, including As-Is and To-Be process flows, user journeys, business rules, decision matrices, source-to-target mappings, data definitions, enhancement backlogs, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation.
  • Use AI-enabled productivity and analysis tools responsibly to accelerate documentation, synthesize stakeholder input, identify patterns or gaps, support backlog refinement, and improve requirements quality while validating outputs with human judgment.
  • Assess opportunities for automation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities by helping define business value, feasibility, risks, controls, success measures, and adoption considerations.
  • Support technology reviews, vendor evaluations, solution comparisons, application assessments, RFI/RFP activities, evaluation scorecards, and recommendation packages.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to validate business assumptions, assess data quality, identify trends or anomalies, support reporting and integration needs, and confirm that solution outputs align with business expectations.
  • Partner with architects, developers, data engineers, security, risk, and operations teams to clarify requirements, resolve design questions, define dependencies, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and maintainable.
  • Support Agile, Waterfall, hybrid, and operational delivery models by contributing to backlog management, sprint readiness, enhancement intake, prioritization, acceptance criteria, change impact analysis, release readiness, and value-based decision-making.
  • Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability across scope, design, development, testing, deployment, training, and post-implementation value realization.
  • Lead UAT planning and execution support, including test scenario development, stakeholder coordination, defect triage, issue resolution, and sign-off readiness.
  • Communicate complex technical, data, and process topics in clear business terms and tailor messaging for executives, project teams, vendors, and end users.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role supporting IT projects, enhancements, application changes, or operational technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead requirements discovery/elicitation, stakeholder facilitation, process analysis, data analysis, solution definition, impact analysis, and cross-functional alignment for complex business and technology needs.
  • Strong experience developing business, functional, non-functional, data, reporting, integration, and acceptance requirements.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to profile data, identify trends or anomalies, validate outputs, define business rules, and support source-to-target mapping.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems, APIs, integrations, data flows, reporting platforms, or migration efforts.
  • Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models, including backlog management, sprint readiness, UAT, and release support.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and concepts, including responsible use of generative AI, automation opportunities, data quality considerations, model/output validation, and business value assessment.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders, business users, vendors, architects, developers, testers, and operational teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem framing, facilitation, documentation, prioritization, and decision-support skills.
  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, read stakeholder dynamics, navigate ambiguity, manage conflict constructively, influence without authority, and communicate with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.
  • Ability to be open and flexible while upholding standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with enterprise platforms or business applications in Finance and/or Investments space.
  • Familiarity with product management practices, including outcome definition, prioritization, roadmap support, customer/user journey mapping, and value realization.
  • Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, CSPO, CSM, SAFe, Agile, data analytics, cloud, or AI-related certifications.
