Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of electronic components, is seeking a R & D Tech to join their team. As a R & D Tech, you will be part of the Research & Development department supporting engineering and product development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: R & D Tech

Location: Duluth, MN

Pay Range: $23-$24/hour

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM

What's the Job?

  • Utilize schematics, diagrams, and verbal descriptions to perform testing of products and equipment.
  • Operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized tools to support R&D engineering efforts.
  • Build prototypes and related hardware such as test fixtures, mechanical enclosures, assembly jigs, and production tooling.
  • Support production line engineering by addressing equipment issues and resolving line-down situations.
  • Conduct qualification testing on new products and perform X-ray analysis on space-grade products.

What's Needed?

  • Experience with electrical engineering test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and power supplies.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electronic components.
  • Skilled in hand soldering, PCBA construction, and using common shop tools.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology from an ABET-accredited college or technical school, or equivalent military training.
  • 0-3 years of related experience; training time expected to be less than 2 months.
