What is a D Tech?

D Techs, or Diagnostic Technicians, are professionals who specialize in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, often in the automotive or technology sectors. They use specialized tools and software to identify problems in electronic systems, mechanical components, or computer networks. D Techs play a crucial role in ensuring equipment or vehicles operate efficiently and safely by accurately pinpointing faults and recommending repairs. Their expertise helps reduce downtime and improve overall system performance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a D Tech, and why are they important?

To excel as a D Tech (Diagnostic Technician), you need a solid background in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical repair, typically supported by a relevant technical diploma or certification. Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools, computerized testing equipment, and manufacturer-specific diagnostic software is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication enhance performance and customer satisfaction. These skills ensure accurate diagnosis, efficient repair, and high-quality service in a fast-evolving automotive industry.

How does a D Tech typically collaborate with other departments in a healthcare setting?

A D Tech, or Dialysis Technician, regularly works alongside nurses, physicians, and dietitians to ensure patients receive safe and effective dialysis treatments. Collaboration often involves coordinating patient schedules, sharing vital health information, and promptly reporting any complications or concerns during procedures. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential, as D Techs play a key role in supporting patient care plans and contributing to a positive clinical environment.

Job description

Overview
Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do.
Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.
Responsibilities
Keysight is seeking a strategic Thought Leader to help shape the company's point of view in Aerospace & Defense technology markets - someone who commands credibility with defense primes, neo-primes, government labs, program offices, and the broader A&D innovation ecosystem, and who can turn deep technical understanding into clear, compelling narratives that shape how the market thinks.
This role will partner across marketing, business groups, and sales, to define Keysight's leadership position in A&D technology and turn technical depth into market-facing stories you'll represent personally, on stage, in print, in front of analysts and media, and in the rooms where Defense technology strategy gets shaped.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong storyteller, and credible technology translator who can connect market demand, customer needs, and Keysight innovation into narratives that advances the company's market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve Keysight's thought leadership narrative across Aerospace & Defense technology markets - i.e. radar, EW, space/SATCOM, 5G/6G tactical networks, sensing, and next-gen RF/microwave.

  • Act as a visible, credible voice for Keysight in the A&D ecosystem - sought after for keynotes, panels, industry publications, and advisory input.

  • Identify emerging trends, customer challenges, and growth opportunities where Keysight should lead.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business, market, and executive-level messaging.

  • Build industry narratives, keynote storylines, articles, white papers, webinars, and event themes.

  • Partner with product, sales, business groups, PR, social, creative, and regional teams to activate thought leadership across channels.

  • Represent Keysight in industry bodies, and analyst/media relationships specific to the A&D sector.

  • Influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams around a clear market leadership agenda.

  • Bring an innovation mindset and challenge conventional thinking to create stronger market narratives.

Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience spanning A&D technology to strategy, business leadership, consulting, market development, product marketing, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated, existing external profile in the A&D technology community - track record of keynote speaking, published articles or papers, panel participation, or advisory roles with industry associations, standards bodies, or government-adjacent forums.

  • Direct familiarity with the A&D acquisition and innovation ecosystem - primes, DoD/MoD or allied government labs, program offices, and how A&D technology strategy gets decided and funded.

  • Strong understanding of adjacent technology markets that intersect with A&D: telecom/5G-6G, space, semiconductor, AI/autonomy, and electronic test and measurement.

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business and market stories.

  • Demonstrated experience developing thought leadership through publications, speaking, industry engagement, executive content, or market-facing programs.

  • Strong customer and market insight with the ability to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, writing, and presentation skills, with the gravitas to command a stage in front of senior technical and government audiences.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, executive teams, customers, partners, and industry bodies.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to build credibility across technical and commercial teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in A&D technology, test and measurement, and adjacent technology markets.

  • Existing relationships with A&D trade media, industry analysts, and standards or advisory bodies relevant to A&D technology.

  • Experience supporting executive visibility, customer proof programs, industry events, analyst/media narratives, or integrated market leadership campaigns.

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels - shaping the narrative and personally delivering it on stage or in print.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect market shifts to customer priorities, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

  • A track record of being sought out by the industry (invited to speak, quoted, asked to advise).
