A Cyber Security Non Technical job focuses on security roles that do not require deep technical expertise, such as policy development, risk management, compliance, security awareness training, and governance. These roles help establish cybersecurity frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote best practices within an organization. Professionals in these positions work closely with technical teams to manage cybersecurity risks, conduct audits, and educate employees on security protocols. Common job titles include Cybersecurity Analyst (General), Compliance Specialist, Security Consultant, and Risk Manager.
As a Cyber Security Non Technical team member, your daily responsibilities may include managing security awareness programs, assisting with compliance documentation, monitoring adherence to company security policies, and supporting risk assessment processes. You may work closely with both technical teams and non-technical staff to communicate best practices, facilitate training sessions, and coordinate policy updates. This role often involves a significant amount of collaboration, organization, and communication to bridge the gap between cyber security specialists and other departments. Being proactive and detail-oriented helps ensure that the organization's security protocols are understood and consistently followed.
To thrive as a Cyber Security Non Technical professional, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of security concepts, and often a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (such as GDPR or HIPAA), GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) tools, and basic security awareness platforms is beneficial. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills make candidates stand out in this position. These skills are crucial for effectively supporting cybersecurity initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to security policies across an organization.
