Why Ryder

Ryder is one of North America's most trusted names in fleet management and supply chain solutions -- and the Customer Engagement Manager role puts you at the center of it all. This is a relationship-first sales position where your success is built on understanding your customers' businesses deeply, solving real problems, and growing accounts over time. If you're a consultative seller who thrives on autonomy, values long-term relationships over one-time transactions, and wants the backing of a Fortune 500 brand, this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

As a CEM, you'll own a portfolio of accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for everything Ryder. Your work spans sales, relationship management, and cross-functional coordination -- no two days look the same.

Account Growth and Sales

  • Own and grow a book of business with clear targets for revenue and profitability
  • Develop and execute a sales penetration plan to expand Ryder's share of wallet within existing accounts
  • Identify and present upsell opportunities across Ryder's full service portfolio -- including Full-Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, and Fleet Management Services
  • Build relationships with all buying influencers within your accounts, not just the primary contact
  • Segment your account base by growth potential, retention priority, and risk -- and work each bucket strategically

Customer Success and Retention

  • Serve as the go-to resource for your customers, ensuring contracted services are delivered and expectations are met
  • Conduct regular account reviews and monitor customer satisfaction results
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate
  • Educate customers on new services, policy changes, and best practices to help them get the most out of their Ryder relationship
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs as accounts grow into more complex Ryder service tiers

Market and Competitive Intelligence

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of your customers' industries, operations, and goals
  • Stay current on competitive alternatives in the market and use that knowledge to protect and grow your accounts
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Ryder's CRM

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, transportation, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of customer-facing sales experience
  • At least 2 years of customer service or account management experience
  • Proven negotiation and consultative selling skills
  • Comfortable with contractual leasing concepts and pricing discussions
  • Strong relationship builder who can engage stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage a portfolio independently

What You'll Gain

  • A defined book of business with real ownership and room to grow it
  • Exposure to Ryder's full suite of services -- giving you broad industry knowledge and strong career mobility
  • The resources of a Fortune 500 company behind every customer conversation
  • A career path that can lead to larger, more complex accounts and senior sales roles
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based upside
