Representative, Adoption Operations (Adoptline) Remote Volunteer Position

Dallas Pets Alive! is a highly respected animal rescue organization and provides the perfect place to utilize your skills to grow personally and professionally. Our mission is to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals in North Texas - and volunteers make our mission a reality.

With over 350 Volunteers on more than 10 teams, we have numerous opportunities for you to join our mission. As an Adoptline Representative, you'll manage our adoption mailbox to make sure our potential parents have all the information they need to comfortably pursue the pet of their dreams!

Team: Adoption

Location:

  • Remote/Virtual: Virtual from anywhere, understanding we are in the CST time zone.

Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week. This position will have a specific day of the week for volunteering.

Compensation: This is a Volunteer Position with no monetary compensation.

Reports to: Adoption Hotline Team Lead and Adoption Director

Works with: Position involvescorrespondence with potential adoptive families, other adoption hotlines and adoption team members on a regular basis. Correspondence with foster families and foster team volunteers required on a semi-regular basis. Correspondence with other teams as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all inquiries received regarding adoptable pets within 24 hours of receipt
  • Forward applications to adoption counselors for review and approval
  • Forward any other correspondence received to appropriate volunteer or team
  • Log and update applications received and adoption application status
  • Submit end-of-day report, logging items completed along with any pertinent remaining items to team prior to logging off
  • Assist with any other duties needed to help drive DPA’s mission and support our values

Skills and Qualifications best suited for this position:

  • Ability to work virtually via email and phone at least 1 day per week on a consistent basis.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proficiency with Gmail and G-Suite applications
  • Fluency in English; bilingual a plus!
  • Ability to operate a computer or mobile device
