IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions

Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.

The Custodial Lead is responsible for overseeing custodial operations within a secure facility. This role combines hands-on custodial duties with team leadership, quality control, and coordination to ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and security. The Custodial Lead plays a critical role in supporting mission readiness by enforcing custodial best practices while adhering to strict security and confidentiality requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and coordinate daily custodial operations within controlled-access and sensitive areas
  • Perform custodial services including cleaning, sanitizing, waste disposal, and special project support as needed
  • Assign work, monitor performance, and provide on-the-job guidance to custodial staff
  • Ensure custodial tasks are completed in compliance with security protocols, safety standards, and facility requirements
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness of assigned spaces
  • Maintain custodial schedules and respond to priority or unscheduled service requests
  • Manage custodial supply inventory, equipment usage, and maintenance reporting
  • Ensure proper handling of waste, recycling, and shredding in accordance with IC information protection procedures
  • Serve as a point of contact for custodial-related issues and escalate concerns as appropriate
  • Immediately report security incidents, safety hazards, or suspicious activity
  • Support emergency response, continuity-of-operations, and special events as directed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of custodial or facilities maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise custodial staff
  • Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning agents, and safety procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow and enforce written and verbal instructions
