Job description

Job Overview
The Custodial Supervisor promotes positive transformative guest experiences through ensuring Kingwood's guest experience quality standards are maintained for all guest amenities and support facilities. They manage all aspects of routine indoor and outdoor custodial functions. They are responsible for all aspects of daily supervision and oversight of the custodial team members. This position maintains all garden facilities at the cleanliness and functionality expected at Kingwood Center Gardens.
The Custodial Supervisor ensures the custodial team pays attention to the details of a high degree of cleanliness in all Kingwood spaces. In doing so, they incorporate Kingwood's quality standards of elegance and class.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates daily cleaning of buildings and venue spaces based on the scheduled events, programming operations, and the needs of other departments
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates custodial team members
  • Provides excellent customer service to other organizational functions, working collaboratively with relevant key staff such as Private Rentals and Venue Operations Coordinators, Setup Team, to ensure all spaces are guest/event-ready
  • Contributes to annual departmental budget planning
  • Stocks and maintains required custodial supplies for custodial operations according to budget
  • Coordinate heavy, non-routine cleaning tasks and special projects (shampooing carpets, waxing floors, deep cleaning, cleaning up after large public and private events
  • Aids in day-to-day set-ups as needed
  • Perform minor maintenance activities
  • Notifies management of deficiencies, maintenance concerns, or repair needs
  • Maintains cleaning logs / records for chemicals and schedules
  • Maintains up to date relevant Safety Data Sheets
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of continuous standing, sitting, or walking along with occasional stooping, bending, reaching, crouching
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Must be able to move around garden in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • Must be goal-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to potential unanticipated opportunities
  • Must be attentive to details
  • Ability to work with and supervise diverse staff and volunteers
  • Ability to prioritize work amongst competing set of tasks
  • Ability to operate custodial mechanized equipment preferred
  • Ability to relate to people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities including staff, visitors, and volunteers

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or higher is required
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Previous janitorial or housekeeping experience required
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies required
  • Willingness to follow all health and safety regulations
  • Must be experienced with relevant OSHA regulations
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass drug test
