POSITION SUMMARY:
Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment. Provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity, and ethics, as well as personal and professional development. Assure that the South University philosophy of quality service to students, development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees, and an environment conducive to innovation, positive thinking, and expansion is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position. Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs, departments, and colleges and abide by the South University Board of Trustees and administration's mandates.

  2. Performย facultyย responsibilitiesย asย outlinedย inย theย facultyย jobย descriptionย inย accordanceย withย the provisions of Faculty Supplement to the South Universityย Faculty/Staffย Handbook.
  3. Provideย courseย instructionย thatย alignsย withย the Southย Universityย modelย ofย curriculaย and supports the South University style of system delivery.
  4. Designย andย deliverย instructionย throughย theย developmentย ofย instructionalย plansย toย meetย course outcomes, the development of activities that support lessonย objectives,ย andย online courses, deliver the instruction as approved within each course shell.
  5. Effectivelyย utilizeย technologyย in theย classroomย toย supportย theย studentย learningย experience.
  6. Enableย theย achievementย ofย pre-defined outcomesย forย studentย achievementย andย evaluationย of learning by providing instruction that fostersย proficiencyย andย establishesย student performance criteria and evaluation.
  7. Deliverย learning-centeredย instructionย byย establishingย anย educationalย environmentย conducive to learning and student involvement and effectivelyย planning andย preparing forย classesย and student success.

REQUIRED QULIFICATIONS:

Educations:

  • PhDย inย aย fieldย relatedย toย theย classesย toย beย taughtย isย preferred, master's degree required.

Experience:

  • Zeroย toย twoย yearsโ€™ย experienceย inย instructionย orย formalizedย educationย process,ย preferablyย inย aย post-secondary or college institution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
  • Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
  • Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meetย frequently occurring deadlines.
  • Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.
  • Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision
  • Ability to learn from studentsโ€™ participation, demonstratesย fair and consistent behavior in all matters, and shows compassion without being ineffectual
  • Ability to perform with legal and ethical boundaries.

License/Certifications:

  • Unencumbered RN nursing License.
