Job description

Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for ages 2-5. Effective verbal communication with parents and young children. Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement and follow program guidelines for disciplining children, parent communication, class format, etc.

Create lesson plans to develop fine and gross motor activities. Contribute to program ideas for enhancing the curriculum, assist with material preparation. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Maintain class attendance records.

Effectively communicate with Coordinator and other preschool instructors. Keep current in class trends. Perform First Aid if needed.

Typical Qualifications Be a strong communicator and class leader, providing a safe, fun, and challenging class for the participants. Certifications in Early Childhood preferred and/or teaching degree. Minimum high school degree or equivalent.

Ability to provide an instructional and fun class environment. Ability to work assigned class schedule. Current certification in First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Wear appropriate City uniform. Adhere to and implement the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures.
