VACANCY: Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher

VACANCY DESCRIPTION: High Point Christian School (HPCS) is seeking a Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher to serve for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will prayerfully and skillfully develop students' attitudes, skills, and subject competencies that will contribute to their spiritual development as mature, able, and responsible Christians. The Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher would do this with their focus being on supporting students with special needs and/or additional educational support.
High Point Christian School was founded in 1975 as a ministry of what is now High Point Church, a non-denominational, evangelical fellowship serving the greater Madison area. Our school offers a safe, caring and Christ-centered environment for grades 3K-8.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The teacher shall be a mature, sincere Christ follower who feels called by God to the teaching profession
  • Experience and/or willing to work with students with special needs
  • Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (training provided)
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Association of Christian School International (ACSI) teaching certification

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ACSI Certified Teacher
  • State of Wisconsin certified special education teacher
  • Familiarity with Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP)
  • Three to five years teaching experience

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Position as Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher is 0.8 FTE (4 days a week with some flexibility)
  • Starting Salary - $33,412; commensurate with experience.
