Job description

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure targets are achieved across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity (SQDCP). This role drives production execution, team performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams to support operational stability, production ramp-up, and customer requirements, while maintaining compliance with company policies and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet output goals, production schedules, and on-time delivery commitments.
  • Manage manpower, equipment, and capacity planning to optimize throughput and efficiency.
  • Monitor production performance and drive improvements across productivity, yield, downtime, WIP control, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure smooth shift handoffs and execution discipline through clear communication and accountability.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure product quality meets internal standards and customer expectations; support audit readiness and compliance activities.
  • Drive issue containment, root cause analysis, and corrective & preventive actions in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Maintain adherence to SOPs, ESD controls, process discipline, and traceability requirements.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with all applicable safety regulations and company EHS policies to prevent workplace incidents.
Cost Control & Budget Management
  • Manage manufacturing budgets and drive cost optimization through process improvements, material waste reduction, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Analyze cost structure and implement cost-saving actions to reduce overall manufacturing cost.
People Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop supervisors, line leaders, and operators through coaching, training plans, and performance management.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and workforce planning to improve team capability and flexibility.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, standard work, line balancing) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance labor efficiency and reduce cycle time.
  • Lead efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and operational costs.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Facilities, and IT teams to ensure stable execution and rapid issue resolution.
  • Support NPO / ramp-up activities and production readiness reviews when required.
  • Prepare daily/weekly performance reports and communicate risks, action plans, and progress to leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within electronics/EMS environments.
  • 3+ years of people management experience in a production setting.
  • Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, high-volume or high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution, quality control, and operational KPIs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Strong knowledge of consumer electronics manufacturing processes, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), assembly, and testing operations.
  • Familiar with ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analysis tools to support production decision-making.
  • Possession of an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training certificate
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, KPI reporting, and executive-level presentations.
Language & Cross-cultural Capability
  • Multilingual communication skills preferred, including English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to lead and collaborate in cross-cultural environments.
Leadership & Problem Solving
  • Strong team motivation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills; capable of performing effectively under high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to rapidly identify and resolve production issues to protect output and delivery performance, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Work Authorization & Scheduling Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to support flexible working hours, including shift changes, weekends, and overtime as needed to respond to urgent production requirements and escalations.
