Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Flight Crew Planner is directly responsible to the Director of Flight Operations for performing all aspects of Crew Planning and Scheduling in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Company policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

DUTIES:

1. Assist in building monthly pilot bid lines and schedules for all bases and fleets in compliance with applicable union agreements, Company policy, and FAA regulations.

2. Coordinates the bidding process and awarding of bid lines with the approval of the Chief Pilot or his designee.

3. Schedule crewmembers effectively to achieve optimum results for the Company and meet flight time and duty restrictions.

4. Works with the Manager of Pilot Training to ensure crew assignments from training have minimal impact on flight coverage.

5. Prepares and maintains daily and monthly rosters and documents associated with the crewmember scheduling and bidding process.

6. Book travel and accommodations when necessary.

7. Determine feasibility of executing scheduled trips and accommodating new trip requests based on overall network availability, crew availability and/or operational limitations on specific aircraft assignments.

8. Assist with Crew Scheduling daily duties. 

9. Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision within established and contractually compliant deadlines. 

10. Exhibit strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

11. Able to handle demands of the job while maintaining life/work balance, willing to work various hours, holidays, nights, and weekend to cover vacation for other planner(s).

12. Ability to understand and work at an abstract level and utilize technology as a tool to solve complex scheduling problems.

13. Must possess leadership, command presence, sophistication, and the maturity necessary to support the activities in the Crew Resource department.

14. Must be willing to travel to Company bases as needed, typically one week at a time, roughly 3 times per Calendar year.

15. Take an active role in promoting positive attitudes toward culture, core values, compliance, and safety within Aloha Air Cargo.

16. Implement policies, goals, and accomplish additional duties as assigned by the Director of Flight Operations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year Logistical Personnel Scheduling experience required. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Aviation industry and knowledge of Part 121 FAA Regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with Crew Management Software preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to prioritize duties under pressure and meet contractual deadlines.

Confidentiality and strong attention to detail and follow-through is required.LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

  • Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from crewmembers and management with tact and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Exceptional math skills are required.

COMPENSATION
This position has a starting range of $24.75 to $28.00 per hour.
