Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to join our Executive Team. This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in OR, WA, or ID. The salary range for this role is $197,000 - $235,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role:
The Vice President of Finance plays a critical leadership role in guiding OCCU's financial health and long-term strategy. This position leads core finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
You will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of financial processes and systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Acting as a key advisor to executive leadership, this role helps drive organizational performance, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute OCCU's financial strategy, aligning with organizational goals and long-term objectives.
  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, receivables, payables, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasts, financial modeling, and analysis of financial trends.
  • Manage budget development, rolling forecasts, and performance tracking against organizational goals.
  • Interpret financial, economic, and statistical data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee reporting to regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Address audit findings and ensure appropriate resolution of financial exceptions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop finance team members, fostering a highly engaged and high-performing team.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaboration and execution.

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of seven years of directly related finance and accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail help ensure efficient, accurate task completion in planning, workflow, and project prioritization.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance and/or a strong record of achieving business results required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit union environment
  • Advanced degree (MBA or related field)
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA
