Job description

Credit Manager

The Credit Manager (CM) will play a leadership role within the GTP team, responsible for a portfolio of clients and their credit needs. This role will serve as the primary client-facing officer that focuses on structuring, credit underwriting and credit relationship management for all GTP clients. The CM will be accountable for credit quality, portfolio profitability, client relationship management, risk mitigation, and working closely with other GTP team members and senior credit approvers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary credit manager and trusted advisor to clients, managing credit needs, and cross-sell opportunities across the bank's commercial banking platform; including but not limited to managing day-to-day client interactions, addressing credit, and structuring inquiries.
  • Overseeing a portfolio of GTP clients, ensuring adherence to credit policies, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements while optimizing profitability and client experience.
  • Leading the structuring and negotiation of credit transactions, collaborating with credit approvers, internal stakeholders, and legal counsel to deliver solutions tailored to client needs while balancing appropriate risk-return profiles.
  • Leading the underwriting, and ongoing credit monitoring of credit solutions, including, if applicable, covenant compliance, borrowing base calculations, and periodic risk reviews.
  • Identifying and escalating emerging credit risks, market trends, and industry specific developments that could impact portfolio performance or client obligations.
  • Managing the end-to-end transaction process from initial client engagement, term negotiation, credit approval, documentation, and closing.
  • Preparing portfolio reports, risk assessments, and internal presentations for management, credit committees, and regulators as required.
  • Staying informed of market trends, regulatory changes, and relevant market activity to enhance transaction quality and portfolio oversight.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders including Treasury Relationship Managers (TRMs), FX, Corporate Derivatives, credit, capital markets, and operations to deliver integrated, value-added banking solutions to clients.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Structure and underwrite new deals, renewals, modifications
  • Act as key facilitator and contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including:
    • Being the primary contact point for client's credit inquiries
    • Utilizing internal resources as appropriate and be responsible for resolution of situation, or escalating if necessary
    • Ensuring timely communication with clients as issues are addressed/resolved
  • Perform specific reporting for the GTP team
  • Update CASH with spreads of financials as needed
  • Monitor assigned credit facilities and the respective client relationship
  • Be the primary contact for credit audit or credit compliance activities
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of credit underwriting
  • Review loan documents for accuracy
  • Support credit structuring and approval for standalone FX and derivative products
  • Ensure delivery of EWB products

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of credit and portfolio management experience in Corporate/Commercial segments.
  • Ability to lead all the credit aspects of deal transactions and portfolio monitoring
  • General knowledge of bank products and services and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree is required.

The base pay range for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - USD $220,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
